About
The Huawei ICT Competition is a global platform for university students to test and showcase their ICT skills. The most recent edition drew a record 220,000 participants, with Global Final winners from 49 countries and regions. The competition is organised into three main tracks: • Practice Competition — datacom, cloud, computing, security and digital power technologies. • Innovation Competition — teams build an original solution using Huawei technologies. • Programming Competition — algorithmic and software challenges, including the Cangjie programming track. The structure runs from national preliminaries, through regional finals, to the Global Final. Awards include the Grand Prize, First, Second and Third Prizes, plus a Women in Tech Award and a Green Development Award. Registration for the 2026–2027 season typically opens through Huawei ICT Academy partner universities from around September.
Eligibility
Open to full-time students enrolled at colleges and universities participating through the Huawei ICT Academy programme. Students register through their national Huawei ICT Academy or partner institution. Team composition requirements vary by track — the Practice and Innovation tracks are typically team-based (3 students plus an instructor).
