The Imagine Cup is where student founders turn bold ideas into solutions trusted by organisations worldwide. Registration for the 2027 competition is open now. Throughout the competition you get access to Microsoft's AI technologies, tailored guidance from Microsoft mentors, and connections that help you refine your product and grow as a founder. Teams pick a challenge aligned to one of the five Imagine Cup categories, or tackle a different problem entirely. After registering, teams can unlock up to USD 5,000 in Azure credits through Microsoft for Startups to experiment, test and refine their MVP. The journey progresses through online submissions, regional rounds and the World Championship.
Eligibility
Open to students aged 16 and over who are enrolled in an accredited academic institution. Teams may have up to four (4) students, and every member must register individually on the Imagine Cup website. Open to all countries where the competition is legally permitted.
