British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for an Project Officer


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and support execution of factory infrastructure, utilities, automation, and capital investment projects to ensure delivery against approved scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Maintain project schedules, trackers, risk registers, action logs, contractor progress records, and project governance documentation.
  • Support project managers and engineers in planning, design reviews, technical evaluations, procurement coordination, installation supervision, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Procurement, Environment, Health and Safety, Information Technology and external contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and constraints, and support timely implementation of corrective actions to maintain project milestones.
  • Prepare project presentations, management updates, investment justifications, executive reports, and project performance dashboards.
  • Support implementation of BAT Project Governance requirements, ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, and compliance records are maintained.
  • Manage project documentation including drawings, specifications, contracts, site instructions, commissioning records, and project close-out reports.
  • Coordinate contractor safety compliance, permit-to-work requirements, risk assessments, and EHS audits throughout project execution.
  • Support continuous improvement, digitalization, and factory capability-building initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery and operational performance.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Management, Engineering Projects, Factory Infrastructure, Construction Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related function.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and levels.
  • Proven experience supporting capital projects, contractor management, commissioning activities, and engineering change implementation.
  • Experience developing project documentation, reports, presentations, schedules, trackers, and executive communication materials.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of project governance, CAPEX management, engineering standards, construction safety, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence principles is an advantage.
